# Bulk Operations {#bulk-operations}


MQUAD provides high-capacity tools for managing large volumes of survey data, specifically designed for large-scale field research and data migration.


## ODK Central Synchronization {#odk-central-synchronization}


MQUAD integrates with ODK Central for large-scale data ingestion from field devices. This is the primary method for bulk importing field data.


### Triggering Sync {#triggering-sync}
1. Navigate to the **Surveys** list and select your survey.
2. Go to the **Sync** tab.
3. Click **Trigger Sync** to pull all new submissions from the linked ODK Central project.
4. Monitoring: A progress bar and log show the number of records synced and any errors encountered during the process.


## Bulk Data Export {#bulk-data-export}


Export large datasets for analysis in external software. MQUAD supports asynchronous exporting for very large surveys.

1. Go to **Data Viewer** or the survey's **Responses** tab.
2. Apply filters (e.g., date range, status) if you only want a subset of data.
3. Click **Export**.
4. Choose your format: **CSV**, **Excel (XLSX)**, or **JSON**.
5. The file is prepared in the background. For large files, you can continue working and download the file from the **Export History** when ready.


## Batch Administrative Actions {#batch-administrative-actions}


Manage multiple responses simultaneously from the **Responses** table:


### Bulk Deletion {#bulk-deletion}
- Select multiple records using checkboxes.
- Click **Delete Selected**. 
- Action is irreversible and captures the count of deleted items in the **Audit Log**.


### Bulk Approval {#bulk-approval}
If the Approval Workflow is enabled:
- Filter for **Pending** responses.
- Select all or specific items.
- Click **Approve** or **Reject** to process the batch.
- Each action is individually timestamped and logged for accountability.


## Performance Limits {#performance-limits}


To ensure system stability, MQUAD enforces the following default limits:
- **Export Limit**: Max 1,000,000 records per export.
- **Batch Processing**: Max 500 responses per manual batch action.
- **Sync Frequency**: Manual sync triggers are throttled to once every 5 minutes per survey.
